Dawn looked over to see how the competetion between Shadow and Leo was going.

Shadow was eatting popcorn and Leo was whispering to himself, "Don't go in there. . .Don't go in there. . ."

Shadow hit him with her arm and yelled, "BOO!"

Leo jumped and screamed, in the movie someone with a chainsaw had come out. Dawn felt Alex jump and get closer to her. Shadow fell over on the floor laughing.

Dawn was able not to jump the whole way through but her lip was still bleeding.

Shadow cracked up laughing at the most..inapropriate times in the movie and Leo screamed every time a door was closed.


The sun burned their eyes as the got out of the movie. Dawn had her lip pulled in to hid it and Leo was more jump than normal.

"SO what'd you think?" Shadow asked everyone

Leo looked at Shadow, "That. . . was. . .horrific. . ."

Dawn looked at her also, "It was good! Not for a first movie but Good!"

Alex, "How Were you able to laugh?!?!?"

Shadow looked at the ground, "My life was worse. . .most of the people here laugh because that stuff in movie is just. . .kind of what we wished would have happened to us. . ."

Leo looked at her, worried. "What do you mean worse?"

Shadow shrugged it off and walked into a Shadow, leaving the group.

Leo and Alex looked at Dawn, "I'm sorry but I need to go get her."

Alex let her go and Leo had a look of concern.

Dawn knew where she'd be.

Awhile back she and Shadow made a deal if either them left upset they'd meet here.

It was the pond with the tree island in the middle.

"Hi Shadow," Dawn found her sitting by the tree.

Shadow lifted her head, "Oh. . .hey. . ."

"Are you going to make me explain it?"

"I. . .no . . .it's just. . ." Shadow began.

Dawn went over and sat down, "Just what?"

"I am afraid he will want to go after my father. . .and that's dangerous. . ."

"You I said you have to let people make up their own minds."

"Yes. . .but Leo might act on impluse and not think. . ."

Dawn parted the water and walked through to Shadow.

"I know," She sat next to her, "But I guess that's a risk you'll have to take if you ever want to open up and be really close to him."

Shadow looked down, "But I'm scared," She said sounding like she was about to cry.

"Shadow," Dawn put and arm around her, "I'm not saying You have to."

"He is propably going to keep pressing on about it. . ."

"You won't be able to hide it forever. . .he will eventully ask about the scars. . ."

"That's what i am scared of. . .I can't hide them forever. . ." A tear rolled down her cheek.

"Ever since that attack on the Circus Master by the Devourer. . .the scars won't go away. . ." Shadow began crying. Dawn knew, the attack had caused her to get 6 more light curses attacking her body, it had been a year since the attack. Shadow said normally the scars would go away but these are staying. . .

"there are ways to avoid it, like telling him that they're from the Devourer," she pulled Shadow closer.

"but your right, you can't hide it forever." she kissed shadows head.

"The first one wasn't though. . ." Shadow lightly touched the shoulder that her father wounded.

"One that first day. . .when he hugged me. . .I was so tense. . .I guess he didn't know. . ." Shadow said, hugging Dawn.

"Dawn hummed softly calming shadow down a bit, " I know. It's never enough when you as currupt ads he is"

"I just don't want Leo hurt. . .I. . .just don't want him hurt. . ." she sniffed.

"I know." Dawn said still holding her. She knew that's all she needed to say. Shadow started crying again and she began to hum lightly. Dawn hadn't noticed just how much she sang or hummed around her. It was just something she did to help.

Shadow let out a long shakey breath. "I. . .think I am ready to go back. . ."

"Are you sure your ready to explain?" Dawn asked.

"No. . .but. . .I think. . .I will find a way to. . . "

"I can be there and help if you'd like." Dawn said parting the water once more and holding her hand out for shadow to take.

Shadow gently took her hand, "I guess. . .but what about Alex?. . ."

"What do you mean?"

"Should I. . .We. . .tell him to?" She asked.

Dawn shrugged, "It may help to tell him first, then maybe he can help..contain Leo. We both know Alex will use his head and then act. He'll be able to help us with Leo sense their best friends and all."

The two started to make their way back to the camp.

Alex had seen Shadow and Dawn walk back, and then into their tent. He walked into the tent to see Dawn.

"Is it okay if I ask why you had freaked out Shadow?" Alex looked at Shadow.

Shadow nodded, Dawn looked up and smiled, "We are going to explain it to you, hopefully when we tell Leo. . .you can help us. . .stop him. . ."

"From doing what?" Alex asked, completely comfused.

Shadow took a deep breath, "I am nervous he will want to go after my father. . ."

"Why?"

"He abused her. . .he tryed to murder her. . ." Dawn began, Alex sat down and listened as the two started going back and forth saying the things that her father had done. After about half-hour, Shadow sighed.

"I think he will act on impluse. . ."

Alex nodded, "I can see why you laughed. . .and I am pretty sure he will. . ."

"We thought sense you too seemed pretty close that between you and Shadow you could keep him from doing something stupid until he calmed down enough to think things through."

Alex nodded and laughed as an outrageous thought came to him.

"What's so funny?" Dawn asked confused.

"Oh I just had the thought of locking him up so he can't leave when we old him." Alex said still smiling.

Dawn smiled and Shadow laughed, "Wouldn't that be hard to explain, Uh Leo we need you to step in this jail cell so I can tell you a story." Shadow cracked up laughing even more.

Alex laughed, "Ok, so. How do we explain it?"

"Jail cell would be kinda funny. . ." Shadow added.

Dawn snapped her fingers, "How about, we get Shadow to blind-fold him and tell him she has a surprise. Only when he is in the cell do we tell him he can take of the blind-fold. We should also place Shadow in the cell with him."

Alex gave Dawn a funny look,"I was kidding about locking him up!"

Dawn smiled, "It was a good idea."

Alex shook his had, "Do you really think it's necessary?"

"Maybe." Dawn said, "It's going to be up to Shadow really"

Shadow looked at them both, "I like Dawn's idea."

Alex looked at her funny, "Your kidding right?"

Shadow shook her head, "I think that me in the cell with him will give him something to concentrate on and the staying in the cell until he knows that i don't want him going after my father is a good idea. . .because once he hears that my father abused me. He will want to take action."

Dawn nodded, "So?" she looked at Alex expectantly.

"I you two expect me to say no to the two of you, you must be high." He shook his head, "I'd rather take my chances with Leo being mad at me. You two are scary! I can win a fight with Leo but, I'm not sure I could get close to either of you."

Dawn smiled, "Looks like it's settled."

Shadow placed a hand on her heart, "Awww, he said we are scary!"

Alex looked at he like she was mad, "YOu like being called crazy?"

She shrugged, "Why not? It makes me different~!"

Dawn beamed a little, "He thinks we're scary Shadow, I wonder what he'd think if he saw us angry?"

Shadow smiled and locked eyes with Dawn who nodded slightly.

Shadow looked at Alex laughing her low evil laugh.

Alex's eyes got wide, "I-um-uh-uh-uh"

Shadow stood up, Her body becoming as black as a void. Her eyes turned brught white her mouth did also, she stepped forwards. Her laughing getting higher.

Alex backed-up, "S-Shadow?".

Shadow laughed more, her voice sounded as if she went mad.

Alex's eyes got wider, "D-Dawn!!! Make her stop!!!!" he got and and ran to her side.

Dawn looked at Shadow laughing, "Ok Shadow I think he gets it." she laughed.

Shadow's form went back to normal and she skipped over to her bed, "Ok~!"
