"From the moment she saw you." Dawn said without emotion.

"Alex, I know you have family problems, and other childhood traumas, but that's life, welcome to the Circus were everyone has problems, and at least one is worse than yours. This world is screwed, but if you spend your time acting like you better, and that no one understands, than you need to get your head checked, because your wrong."

Leo's mouth gaped a bit.

"Why do you act like you've seen more than anyone here, wen frankly your younger than both of us."

"It's because your an ignorant child Alex, I'm 16 in NYMPH years, that is 1600 human years."

Alex raised an eyebrow.

"Y-your, 1600?" Leo said staring at her.

Dawn nodded, "Apparently we did make the wrong choice." her words laced with anger.

"No one said you did." Leo said, rubbing his arm akwardly.

"No one had to say anything." Dawn said looking at Leo.

Alex was still getting up, "She didn't have to throw me so hard. . ."

"I agree with how Shadow threw you. You insulted her."

"How?"

"She isn't her father. You were making it sound like it she was." Dawn said, emotionless.

Leo sat down defeated, "I just want Shadow to come back. I never wanted to hurt her."

Alex stared at Dawn not ready to give in, "how did I say that she was like her father."

Anger started bubbling around down, she felt the air in the room thinning, Alex and Leo's eyes started to widen.

The idiocy of Alex was starting to push her over the edge.

"Dawn, please stop, I can hardly breath," Leo said pleading.

Dawn couldn't hear him she just stared at Alex.

"Dawn,Please!" Leo said, holding his throat.

Dawn glared at Alex, she could tell he was needing air, he just didn't want to admit defeat.

"Say it." Dawn said.

Dawn wasn't sure how much longer she could hold this, not only was her air cut off, this wasn't her element.

Alex's face began to get red and his eyes lost focus a bit, "Okay Okay, Please stop."

The words could barely be heard the air returned, and Leo gasped Alex made sure to keep a straight face, but took as deep breaths as he could with out gasping.

Leo looked around, "I want to speak to Shadow. . .I need to. . ."

Dawn turned on her heel, "I will see if I can find her for you. In the mean time, You both can stay here." She started to walk off.

"Dawn. . .Wait. . ." She heard Alex's voice call for her.

"What?" She turned abou to face him.

"If you see her. . .Tell her I'm sorry. . .I am sorry if I insulted you two. . ."

She watched Alex, "I'll pass the message on." Her voice was hard and cold, Leo flinched when she spoke.

Dawn left and Alex sat down looking ay Leo. He knew he messed up he could hear it in her voice. Part of him wanted to call after Dawn until he was horse. He let her go without even telling her she cared. She'll be back. When she brings Shadow. I'll tell her then.

Leo was crying again.


Dawn found Shadow in there spot.

"Hey there,"

"Hey."

"Leo wants to see you, he begged for you. And Alex said he was sorry for insulting us." Her voice was hard and cold. It was the only way she could keep a hold of her emotions. She wasn't going to loose control again.

"If you go back, be nice I just about killed the,"

She sat next to Shadow not saying anything else."

Shadow sat there playing with the sand, "How?"

Dawn shrugged, "I just took the air away. . ."

Shadow grinned lightly, "and They still didn't learn their lesson?"

She rolled her eyes, "Apparetly not, only after I suffocted them and started to walk off did Alexsay he was sorry. . .Leo had cried like ten times."

Shadow frowned, "D-did I do that? I didn't mean to. . .Alex just. . ."

"You did, but not because you scared him, it's because he found out you love him"

Shadow started to cry more and Dawn held her against her.

"I think you should go back and talk to Leo. I'm not going back right now, I don't feel up to it, and you were the one that was asked for." Shadow looked up at Dawn for the first time realizing how tired she looked.

"Taking the air out of the room..it..wasn't easy was it?"

Dawn shook her head, "It wasn't."

Shadow hugged Dawn back, she closed her eyes. "Your not in front of them any more. . .you don't have to hold it in. . ."

Dawn looked at her, How did she know?

"I'm going to go back. . .maybe you can when you feel better. . .if oyu don't I'll come back. . .ok?" Shadow looked at Dawn.

Dawn nodded, "One thing you need to understand, it's been a long time sense I've let it all out. I don't plan to anytime soon."

Shadow looked at her, "Dawn how long is many years?"

Dawn shrugged, "I was 3."

"That's not good you know? It's okay to cry, it helps." Shadow said seriously.

Dawn shook her head, "I can't-I can't let go..I can't"

Shadow looked up to Dawn, "Why not?"

((Hey I'm trying to rap up the forums I am a major part in and let others jump in. I only have a few days until I leave for about 2 months))

Dawn shook her head, "Lets go."

Shadow didn't push her too much more. They traveled back in silence.

Once they reached the camp Dawn gave her a quick hug and Went their separate ways. Too much emotion. Dawn shook her head.

She went to her room and sat for a moment and gathered her things, She was going to go and take a break from everyone, everything. She packed her things and sat down to write a few letters.

Shadow,

Hey, I'm taking a break, too many people, too many feelings. I need some time alone again. Back to where I grew up.
I don't think this is forever, but it maybe a long time. I'll try to keep in mind time travels much short for you.

The next letter was to the Circus Master.


Ayala,

I remember how you treated me from the beginning, with kindness and love. You're an amazing person, and leader. I know that no matter what happens to these people, they will always have a family. You know true heart break and sadness, but you've manage to turn it into goodness and a home for the homeless.

She thought about leaving one for Alex but she didn't think he would even read it much less care. She left Shadows note on her bed with the butterfly wood carving.

On Dawn's way out of the camp she slid the note under the door and left.

Once she was an hours way into the forest, the tears started to roll down her face.

Shadow went down to where Leo and Alex were.

"Shadow?" Leo's voice echoed.

"Yeah, it's me."

Alex looked up, "Where's Dawn?"

Shadow Shrugged, "I. . .think she went home . . .where ever her home is. . ."

Alex looked at her, surpise written across his face, "What? Home?"

Shadow nodded, her eyes tearing up. Leo auto matically went to comfort her.

Alex moved into the shadows. How could she be gone? When would she be back? As far as he could tell she had no home...

"When will she be back?" Leo asked comforting Shadow.
