A World of Misfit's. . .

"I think you should go in you non-shadow form and change you name to something else and see how long it takes him to realize it's you! But because it's so tiring you should drop it after he figures it out or we tell him" Dawn said smiling.

Shadow smiled, "I have the middle name 'Iridesnce' Think that will work?"

Dawn smiled and nodded,"I think it will, but change the color or your jeans and tank top."

"GENIUS!!!!" Shadow jumped on the bed, "Since it takes so much enegry I think i will sleep for now. wake me up an hour before dinner starts ok?"

Dawn giggled, "Sure thing!"

Dawn went in and showered and changed into her clean dress.

She let her hair dry naturally so it would be a little more wavy.

Dawn sat on her bed carving on a piece of wood. It was starting to take on the characteristics of the animal it was suppose to be. As always Dawn started humming a lulaby that would help Shadow sleep.

after a moment Alex came in, "I told you I'd figure out where your tent is." He smiled waling over.


"shh," Dawn gestured over to the bed

"Sorry" He whispered, "Was that you singing?"

"Yes, It helps Shadow sleep." dawn had whispered back.

"Why do you sing to her?" Alex tilted his head side-ways.

"She's. . .had past issues. . .it just helps clear her mind." She said, still working at the wood.

"Wanna know how I found you?" Alex said smirking.

"Let me guess, either A: You went tent to tent. or B: You went and asked somebody where we stayed." Dawn smiled lightly.

"I-I-I didn't do either of those!"

Dawn looked up from her wood piece giving him a funny look," How did you do it then?"

She didn't see any other way he could have done it.

Alex shift his wings uncomfortably.

Dawn cocked her head and sweeped the wood chips off her bed and into the box she keeps them in and scooted over so he could sit sown next to her.

She patted the area, "Ok, then how did you do it?"

Alex sat down, "I. . .um. . . "

She leaned her head sideways, "You um. . .what?"

An idea came to Alex, "I can't give away all my secrets," he smiled.

Dawn frowned a bit, "Are you really not going to tell me?"

Alex looked at her, "I. . .um. . ." He became slightly startled when Shadow stirred, Dawn sang lightly and she stopped and continued sleeping.

Alex looked at Dawn, "So you did sing to her!"

She shrugged, "Yea. . .So?"

"Nothing, it just liked your singing," He smiled at her.

Dawn looked down, "Well your not likely to hear it again."

"Why not," Alex asked confused.

"Because," Dawn said, "I really don't feel like explaining it right now."

Alex decided not to push her it seemed to really upset her, "Oh that's okay maybe another time," he smiled and put his hand on her knee.

Dawn's heart skipped a few beats when he did, and she started working on the wood again to try and hide it.

Leo poked his head in, "Hey, dude. Is this their tent?"

Alex nodded, "Be quite. Shadow's asleep." he whispered.

Leo lit up, "Oh really now?" he walked in quitely. "Where is she?"

Dawn pointed over to where she was, "Right over there."

Leo walked over and pulled the cover's off of Shadow's head, "Dude! She is so adorable when she's sleeping!"

"LEO!" Dawn Whispered yelled at him

He looked up, "What?"

"Stop being creeperish!"

Alex chuckled, "She has a point man."

"But," Leo started.

"No." Dawn interrupted, "You leave, wake her up, or stop watching her sleep while I'm here it creeps me out!." Dawn never stopped whispering."

Leo huffed and sat down on the edge of Shadow's bed, "She's just so adorable though!"

"Hey, just stop staring while she sleeping. It is kind of creepy." Alex pointed out.

Dawn leaned back against her bed-frame, "She's my room-mate for pete's sake. Worst of all your doing it while I am awake. . ." she said, still cutting away at the wood.

"Can I do something?" Leo asked, mostly looking at Dawn.

She looked at him skepitcal, "What in the world would you want to do?"

"I wanna touch her hand. . .her skin. . .it's so. . .different. . .I just wanna see what it feels like. . ."

"Leo! Dude! That's creepy!" Alex said, slightly raising his voice causeing Shadow to stir.

"Shhhh!" Leo slapped his hand over his mouth.

Dawn hummed a quiet melody making Shadow fall back to a peaceful sleep.

"I'm sorry." Leo whispered.

"You can't touch her hand while she's asleep you'll just have to wait until she's awake and you two are close wnough to hold hands." Dawn smiled.

"But!"

"Nope!" Dawn said smiling.

Leo grumbled a little and sat back down.

"Dude, just cause you like her doesn't mean you have to creep on her." Alex said.

"She's just so. . . different though. . .I mean. . .like in a good way. . ."

"Like, Once in a life time chance or It's just so cute I have to have it way?" Dawn asked.

"Both. . . definetly both. . ." Leo said, nodding.

Dawn hoped if Alex liked her as much as she did him he would remember his own words.

Dawn smiled at Leo and Alex, and put her carving stuff up, "It's an hour until dinner and we have to get ready. Time for you two to scandal" She made a shooing motion with her hands.

"But!" Alex said standing, "I still haven't got your name and that's why I came by."

Dawn smiled, "I said at dinner now it's time to go!" She said pushing the two of them out the tent.

Dawn made sure they had went back to their own tents and went over and woke Shadow up.

Shadow leaned up and yawned, "It's time. . . .already?"

Dawn smiled, "Yes, already now get up, we have to get you in Non-Shadow Form. . .Iridesnce."

Shadow smiled mischievously, "Sure thing, I'll dig some clothes out of my dresser." Shadow got up and walked over to her dresser. She pulled out Her Blue Jeans and white tank top with an over shirt that was Dark blue and white. She put on her Necklace and changed. Comeing out of the other room in Non-Shadow form she let her hair down.

"The one thing that bugs me in my Non-Shadow Form is that my hair go's to my waist instead of my neck!"

She let her Brown hair drape over her shoulder's, placed a hair-tie in her pocket and pulled on somes tennis shoes. Her Dark Purple eyes gleamed with joy.

"Happy much?" Dawn said looking at Shadow.

"Do you even know me?" Shadow said.

"It was kinda hard." Dawn said laughing lightly.

Dawn all most forgot to tell her in her prep for dinner, "Leo and Alex came by while you were asleep."

She hid a smile and went over to her to help her with her now long hair.

Shadow fixed her bangs while Dawn helped with her hair.

"Seriously? What did they talk about?" She said curiously.

"Well, Leo wanted to touch your hand." Dawn stated, fighting back a smile.

"My hand? Did you let him?!?"

"No, but he did stare at you."

"Did he say anything, after you stopped him?"

"Only that your so adorable."

"Really?" Shadow's human form turned bright red with a blush. "He can't even see my features. . .and he thinks I am adorable?"

"Yes, and he is fascinated by your Shadow form." Dawn knew this would delight Shadow.

Shadow had just finished putting a Light blue bow in her hair, she stood up stand and jumped.

"It did!??!! YAY!!!!!!" She squealed.

"Ok, Ok. We get it. Now calm down before they get suspicious." Dawn said laughing lightly.

Shadow hushed smiling.

"Are you ready to go?" Dawn asked Her smiling back.

"Yeah but your not."
Dawn looked down, "What do you mea-"

"That's what you ALWAYS wear, not that it isn't cute buuuut,"

Dawn looked at Shadow, "What are you going to do?"

"Oh, nothing~!" Shadow walked over to her bed, pulling a box out from under it.

"What's in there?" Dawn asked her.

"Promise me, you won't look." Shadow said.

"Fine, I won't" Dawn closed her eyes, she heard the box open and something was placed on her.

"Ok, open them." Shadow said.

First thing Dawn saw was the look Shadow had on her face.
The Second, was the light green dress on her, small emeralds lined the edge's" It had faint white details as if they were trees or flowers.

"So?" Shadow said, bouncing on her toes. "Do you like it?"

Dawn oppened her mouth to say something and closed it again.

she was silent for a long moment, "It's beautiful." She smiled and hugged Shadow tightly"

Shadow jumped into the air, "I made it when you said that you were connected to th trees and all that. I didn't know what to do, that's why last month I had to measure you, I get the size's right. and . . .I really really thought that this was a superb time to show it to you~!" Shadow said, hugging Dawn back.

"But where did you find so many emeralds?" Dawn said, placeing her hand on them.

"That was easy! Those are from my personal collection I had when I was at The Shadow-Realm, but don't worry! I know were I stashed plenty more!"

Dawn hugged her again. Now she felt she needed to get Shadow something. She sighed a little.

"What about shoes?" Dawn asked the all knowing shadow.

"We're the same size so you can wear these she pulled out a pair strappy white sandals.

Dawn put them on smiling, "Common lets go to dinner." The two linked arms and made their way to the dinner tent.
