Destiny's Curse

He nodded, his ears perking up with his mood.

"You are right. . . And she may very well be helping us now. . ."
He delicately picked up the stone necklace, turnning it over in his hand.

"First we just need to figure out what this is," Ice said looking at the stone.

She cradled hers in her hand thinking, feeling for energy.
The glowing was still intensifying between the two stones.

"I just wish I knew what this. . ." He trailed off.

"Err, we should probably check on Destiny. ."

Ice nodded, and got up to go and check on the girl, slipping the necklace back over her head.

Destiny looked as if she was asleep. Ice smiled and was about to go when the girl's eyes flew opened and she sat up with a start.
"Destiny, what is it?" Ice asked, alarmed. Vate and Dawn came running into the room, hearing the urgency in Ice's voice.

"Darkness..." the seer breathed. "Darkness is in the future. A hunting. A game of hunting. One that must be won."

"What does that mean?" Dawn asked.
Ice shook her head and looked at Vate.
He shrugged.

Destiny's eyes caught site of the glowing stone necklace.
"What is that?" she asked.

"That is what we were trying to figure out," Ice said.

Vate slowly moved to the side of Destiny's bed, setting his necklace in his pocket.

"Do you feel well, Miss Destiny? Is there anything you need?"

"I feel fine," Destiny replied. "I really don't need anything."

"She sounds like me," Ice commented.

Vate laughed, "That is true."

"Can I see your necklaces?" Destiny asked.

Ice pulled hers over her head again and Vate took his out of his pocket. Destiny took both of them in her hands.
Almost instantly her eyes glazed over and she stiffened. This time however, she didn't say anything.
As soon as she returned back to normal, she looked at both Ice and Vate.

"What did you see?" Vate asked.

"These necklaces are the only two like them in this world. They are both... energy stones," she looked at the two stone that were still in her hand before giving them back to their owners.

"Energy stones. . ." Vate repeated.
His ear twitching in curiousity.

"Like they posses a type of energy?"

Destiny shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe someday I'll have another vision, but for now..."
She looked away.

"It's alright Destiny," Ice said, laying a hand on the girl's shoulder. "You let us know more than we knew."

A sad smile touched the younger girl's features. "If you don't mind, I'd like to go back to sleep now."

"Of course," Vate spoke up. Ice, Dawn, and himself left the room.

It was about seven hours later.
The infirmary had been unusually not busy that day, so Vate had been drilling Ice into remembering what herbs did what and what their names were.

"Calendula," Vate said.

"Aka marigold," Ice replied, "or more precisely, pot marigold. It's used for healing wounds, mostly lacerations, abrasions, and skin infections."

"Good," Vate put the book down.

"Dinner?" Ice asked.

Dawn poked her head into the med tent, "Hey guys, want to go to dinner with me? Everyone else already went a head and I don't feel like going alone this time."

She was in an unusably good mood. Her hood was even down and her long blond hair draped beautifully down her back.
