"I should get so worked up anytime someone brings up my parents," Dawn smiled weakly. "it's not like he knows any better."

Shadow offered a weak smile, "Sometimes I wish he did know better, I have to correct most of the mistakes he made when he was little."

"your a good sister and friend Shadow, you deserve so much better than you have" dawn said smiling sweetly.

Shadow shook her head, "If I had something better, I would not be happy. I love my life, so why change it? or Me?" She smiled.

"well happiness is a good thing. I'm glad I can play a small
Part in it" she smiled bigger

"Oh, please. I have always wanted a sister. Hearing you say I was your sister over-whelmed me with joy." Shadow began laughing.

"Now we are in a love war~!" She smiled.

"I have a sister, she was nothing like Blake or you." Dawn shivered at this

"my mother hated what I represented but loved me because I was her daughter. My sister, just hated me for very thing I was"

"I'm sorry. . .Why does your family seem to hate you for something? I mean everyone in your family seems to. . ." Shado felt horrible for Dawn.

"nymphs asexually reproduce, meaning they have children with out any outside help. All full blood nymphs are female. But one day my mother lurid an elf into her net of seduction and when I can into this work I represented an impure line in the royal line that has been going for generations, and that is a very long time. To my sister I'm the one who has birth rights to the thrown, I can travel all over the world as long as there is wild life near by, and I have more contol over my nymph abilities that she doesn't" dawn smiled grimly

Shadow nodded her head, "So. . .that's why. . ."

"What do you mean?"

"Just thinking aloud that's all . ." Shadow said.

Dawn could tell something was distracting Shadow but decided it was better not to ask.

"my father is dead, anyone lurid in by a nymph dies.".

"it's terrible the few that survive usually kill them selves in longing for the beautiful woman they saw th nymph as."

Shadow opened her mouth then closed it, "I'm sorry."

"It's fine Shadow. . ."

"No. It's not. I just thought 'I'd rather have a Dead father then one that trys to murder me.'" Shadow said hugging Dawn.

"I would too," Dawn said

Shadow looked up, "really?"

Dawn nodded.

"That's why I felt so bad for you. Having to live with a man whom tries to murder on a daily basis. . ." Dawn shook her head, "It was probably really hard."

Shadow nodded, "It was. . .considering how I had to pick up my little brothers messes so they wouldn't get beaten. . ."

Dawn hugged her, "They don't know just how lucky they are."

Shadow Shrugged, "I'm the oldest, it's how it works."

"It's not a child's job to pick up after a child"

Shadow smiled, "I guess. . .I never was actually a child. . ."

Dawn looked at her, "What was your favorite thing when you were. . .10?"

Shadow thought, "I really like smithing, That's when i made this necklace." She refered to the Rainbow around her neck.

"When you were 10?" Dawn asked her, just to confirm.

"Yea. . .ten."

"How about when you were 7?"

Dawn remembered being 7 human years old, she was so young, and insentient.

"I made sure that Blake and Cresent were ok and I would pick up after them. . ." Shadow said. Smiling she laughed, "Cresent was only 5. So many mistakes. . . It was all I could do. . ."

Dawn got up and hugged her, "You had your childhood stripped from you, for that I am sorry."

Shadow smiled, "And that is why, my dear Dawn. I am so silly now. Because, I have now. My brothers had then." She laughed, "I guess that we haven't grown out of that yet."

Dawn smiled, "I'm glad your the way you are, you lighten my personality quite a bit."

"Well, you did live in the forest." Shadow smiled, looking at her.

"It's not as bad as you'd think," Dawn smiled, "We should take a week out there just you n me sometime. It'd be great..I kind of miss living out there..it's home."

Shadow smiled, "I would like that very much. . ."

Dawn grind and stated to carve on her wood piece.

"So," Shadow sat next to her, "Where did yo learn to do that?"

"I taught myself."

"What is it going to be?"

"A butterfly."
